Canasta: Pro App Reviews

Played the free version for a while, now decided to buy the pro version. Havent found any flaws this far, works great and the ui looks good (esp compared to other card games in the store). AI can definitely be improved - or Im just talented and have a lot of luck ;) so please, improve the AI of the components in the next version!

Too easy. Your partner (AI ), dont care about you and how many cards left in your hands.

This version of canasta is pretty good. One of the better ones Ive found. With the pro version you can choose more settings. I am disappointed with this one because it is 4 player only, you cant switch it to 2 or 3 player. Also your partner in 4 player does not need to ask your permission before going out at the end of the game so that is not accurate to the rules and also very annoying. You can also discard wild cards if you want which is also not accurate to the rules, should not be allowed. When you pick up the discard pack when opening with your two cards in your hand, the game allows you to use all the cards youve picked up to make your required amount of points to open, which is against the rules. You should only be allowed to use the top card of the pile towards your opening points. So overall this game is ok but quite disappointing if you are an avid canasta player.

Love this game and love the latest update!!! The only reason I decided to purchase the paid version of this game is because I enjoyed the free version so much. I tend to support games that I enjoy a lot and also play a lot... this one is well worth the price. I have downloaded other games from this developer and have NOT been disappointed. Good job!

Best canasta game for iOS! Very easy to set up and play! Lots of fun winning!

The only difference between the this one and the free one is that you can choose the level of difficulty. I still find it frustrating that my opponents sometimes have Jokers, several 2’s and multiple pairs and never open. That said, I still am addicted.

I am surprised by all the good reviews. This game does not follow the rules that I am used to from Yahoo games or Hoyle card games. I have played with more intelligent AI partners. Its not bad its just not challenging.

The app is visually quite appealing, but the play is atrocious. My opponents consistently throw away cards they need, and fail to go down when they could. My partner does the same thing. Sure, I win a lot, but I’d much rather have a partner and opponents who have some savvy about canasta. Suggest you hire a high level canasta player to help you fix the strategy.

I bought the pro version to be able to play a more challenging AI, but even on difficult its not much of a challenge to win.

Everything is great EXCEPT the opposing team will sit with more than enough points to open but fail to do so FOR THE ENTIRE HAND! This completely ruins the fun of competing to win...

Easy to play. Appropriate speed and sound. It needs an expert level.

Good game , enjoyable. Please have computer partner meld more often, also they throw out jokers and douces , wild cards as a discard on their final play. What a waste of good points. I dont need a discard to go out why do they? Please address these issues. Thanks, Lots of fun.

The paid version is better than the free one as its more challenging - at least I will lose once in a while! UPDATE: I have downgraded the app to three stars as the app sometimes allows the AI to meld without the required amount of points. It will also occasionally allow the opponent to pick up the discard pile without requiring the opponent to meld the top card.

Game becomes repetitive very quickly. Computer players just want to go out asap. Sometimes they meld with less points than required?? More times than not, the card I discard is played by the player proceeding me on the next turn. Also, I and my partner will be dealt several pairs, rarely 3 of a kind, while the computer is able to meld almost on their first turn using many wild cards. I find that I either get no wild cards dealt, or end with with five of them. Hence, not much skill involved. Its not long until each game seems the same. A couple of rounds and the computer goes out, and repeat, and repeat. Not worth buying this program.

Often makes no sense. The opponents will not play to win and sometimes your partner will discard cards you need or not use wild cards to make a canasta.

This version of canasta has a lot of bugs that need to be fixed. It will go out when none of the players has got rid of all the cards in there hand. It seems that it does not do the math correctly at times. Graphics are good There is no way to prevent the computer partner from going out before the human player wants to go out This a a fun card game and the rules are simple once you catch on. Again fix all the bugs and this will be a great game.

The game is great, but I have noticed two rules that need to be changed: From what I know from playing this game live, is that; 1) you CANNOT pick up the pack if the top card matches one of your completed melds (this allows your opponent to throw off without fear of the pack being picked up) and, 2) you CANNOT use the entire pack towards your count of going down, ONLY the top card may count. Ive noticed that if you havent gone down and pick up the pack, you can use any of the cards in the pack towards going down. You should be restricted by only using the top card and only the get the rest of the pack in your hand once you go down. Please look into those rules! If those changes are made, it will make the game even better. Thanks!
