Fun game. But the computer constantly freezes the deck w/ 2s & jokers. Your teammate always discharges cards your melds could use, leaving useless cards in their hand. Lots of glitches. Frustrating. Feels like youre playing w/ an idiot!

The game is very enjoyable. I played maybe 30 games on the free version and won them all as the AI is on very easy mode. Ive only played 3 games on the full version. Never played Canasta before I got this app, so it may not speak well of the AI that I started out on hard difficulty and won 2 of the 3 games I played. So, if youre a canasta genius this game may not be for you. Youll probably just dominate the AI. But for a beginner like me Ill probably enjoy it for a few months at least.

See other rating comments. Partner holds playable cards defeating the logic of team play. The bots hoard and discard their own meld cards. I love playing canasta but this version is more frustrating than fun.

Please bring back the prior versions!

Why would your partner discard the winning card to make a canasta and keep an unneeded one? Why would the opponent be holding 200 points in his hand when he could have melded? He has 4 aces and 3 tens. Stupid game!

This used to be a great game. I even purchased the full version...then they updated and ruined what was a very good game. Dont waste your time or money! Bring back the previous version.

Your last update took his from a 5 star game to less than 1 star. WHY?

What is going on w latest update? Other players keep tossing cards that they should lay down and holding cards too. Also occasionally game lets people go down without having min count.

The updated "logic" still makes zero sense. The computer hands now throw wild cards and whoever "lucks" into the discard pile racks up the points.

Dec 7 update: 2.5 stars. Some improvements but still nowhere near how real expert canasta players behave. Example; who throws away and discards a card that would have given you a natural canasta? Answer: the bots in this game. Second example: whose partner discards a wild card and leaves ten cards in his/her hand when there are only three cards left in the draw pile and they clearly wont get another move? Answer: the bots in this game. You guys are making improvements but still have a ways to go. Also, just because you can pick up the discard pile, doesnt mean you SHOULD pick up the discard pile. Its called strategy! Especially evident near the end of a game where you need multiple other cards to make multiple canastas, and there are only a handful of cards left in the draw pile. ALSO: you cannot make a meld with two naturals and two wild cards! You always need one more natural card than wild cards. Thems the official rules!! I still have high hopes! Please take the money I paid for this Pro version, along with all the other peoples, and make it great! UPDATE: Changing my review to two stars. This "update" is a ridiculous step backwards. PLEASE fix. Not even a novice canasta player would play like these bots! UGH - This is my first review but I feel compelled to write about this app which could be great but has too many flaws. First the pros: great interface, lovely layout, good animation, scores compiled quickly and helpfully, many options like number of cards in initial deal and number of cards per deal. Now, the cons. The opponents and the computer partner are terrible in the Expert level. They dont play like real canasta players. This is especially evident when they dont play properly when the pile is frozen, they pick up a pile with a lone 4 when they already have a canasta in 4s but are needing five different cards to make other canastas, they use a wild card as their final going out discard when they could have used it on a meld to make a canasta. I could go on but Ill stop here. In addition, the current version allows opponents to meld with two wild cards and two natural cards, when the actual rules state you always need at least one more natural than wild. Plus, the frequency with which the opponent who discards to you has black 3s is totally ridiculous. This game is a fun time waster and if youre not a serious canasta player, you may enjoy it thoroughly. I just wish I had heeded previous reviewers who made similar complaints, before I bought the full version to have access to the "Expert" level. I hope future upgrades address these issues and if so I will happily change my rating to more stars.

I bought the pro version thinking that the "difficult" level would be difficult - not so. Its about as easy as the free version (only offers easy level).

App developers should read the Canasta League of Americas rules. 3s are never wild! 7s can only be melded 7 at a time and all natural otherwise its minus 2500 points if natural sevens same for Aces natural or mixed. Having 3s as wild takes all the strategy out of the game. Why not a four player option too!

Need more options to setup to help w more realistic situations. Computer partner doesnt make obvious moves...frustrating to someone who has played the real thing for decades

I was getting bored with the free version since I won repeatedly. The pro is more competitive. Great!

Great game I play it with some friends and great way stay sharp

Very fun, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. If you like Canasta this is a great app
