Canasta pro

I have played canasta for more than 60 years. I love the game. I downloaded the free game and after two games bought the pro version.
I thought sure the pro version would play correct. No not the case. Real Rules state you have to have the meld in your hand before you get the whole discard. You cannot use the whole discard pile to make your meld,just the top card. You have to have two of the same card in your hand to make your initial bid. After that one and a wild card can pick up the discard IF you have made your meld and the deck isnt frozen.
Partner freezes the deck with a joker on his first turn. How stupid is that.
Please fix this and this would be a 5 star game,
